This is a combination of three projects.

US 190 (I-12 - LA 22)

The $8.7 million project will resurface the existing roadway and ramps along US 190 between I-12 and LA 22. The project will also be adding auxiliary lanes between I-12 and Fairway Drive (Judge Tanner Blvd.) (North and Southbound) and between Fairway Dr. and LA 22 Northbound only.

I-12 EB Exit Ramp Extension at US 190

The $1.4 million project will lengthen the deceleration lane of the EB exit ramp on I-12 at the US 190 (Covington/Mandeville) interchange to allow more storage for exiting vehicles and alleviate congestion on the interstate during peak hours by creating a dual lane exit.

La. 3228 (Asbury Drive) to Lonesome Road

The $11.3 million project will reconstruct 1.153 miles of US 190 from LA 3228 (St. Joseph) to Lonesome Road, from the existing two to three lane section to a four-lane roadway with a raised divided median.

The existing two-lane bridge over Bayou Chinchuba will be replaced with two new bridge spans, each with two lanes, keeping the bridges consistent with the new four lane roadway.

The existing traffic signals at the intersection of US 190 and frontage road, US 190 and LA 3228 (St. Joseph Street) and at US 190 and Meadowbrook/St. Ann will be replaced with new traffic signals.

The existing ditches at LA 3228 (St. Joseph Street) will remain an open ditch section, and will be re-guarded to improve drainage. The existing ditch drainage from LA 3228 (St. Joseph Street) to Lonesome Road will be replaced with a new subsurface pipe drainage system.

New concrete sidewalks will be added along both sides of the roadway.
