This project will resurface approximately 7 miles of US 61 (Airline Hwy) between LA 22 and LA 74. Also, as a safety measure, 17 low-volume crossings will be closed to create safer movements along this route and improve traffic flow. The remaining crossovers with receive upgrades to their turning/U-turn lanes or get new turning/U-turn lanes as part of the safety upgrade.
