DOTD announces LA 20 (North Canal Blvd.) widening project in Lafourche Parish

THIBODAUX, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the start of a $9.9 million project to widen La. 20 (North Canal Boulevard) from La. 308 to St. Patrick Street, in Lafourche Parish. The work will begin on Monday, Jan. 4 and is estimated for completion in fall 2016.

The project will include drainage work, complete asphalt overlay, and installation of new traffic signals on just over 2.5 miles of La. 20. The contractor is Barriere Construction Co., LLC.

Motorists will experience travel lane shifts for the duration of the project. Through and local traffic will be maintained in both directions.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the area and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking or biking near the work zone.
