EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE – LA 1223; NATCHITOCHES PARISH

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 1223 in Natchitoches, Natchitoches Parish, will be closed at the Union Pacific Railroad track. The work is being done on LA 1223 approximately 0.36 miles east of the intersection of LA 6 and LA 1223 in Natchitoches. The closure on LA 1223 will start on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 9:30 PM with a reopening on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 5:00 PM. Union Pacific Railroad will be installing a rail signal that was hit due to and accident.
Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The Detour will be LA 1 south to LA 1 By-Pass North to LA 6 East to LA 1223. All Wide loads will be permitted on the detour. The detour can accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
