Street Improvements; Alexandria, LA; Rapides Parish

The LA DOTD Construction Coordinator, Steve Buskie, advises the public that work will continue on street improvements for the city of Alexandria. On Thursday, February 7, 2013 the project to rehabilitate the concrete pavement of Memorial Drive will begin. It should also be noted that no disruption of traffic or inconvenience to the public will be experienced on the Mardi Gras parade route during the Mardi Gras Parade weekend. The work will consist of concrete paving panel replacements on Memorial Drive between Lee Street and Masonic Drive. It is anticipated that the work will take approximately (2) two months to complete.
Permit/Detour section
Memorial Drive traffic will be reduced to one lane during work hours and two lanes during non-work periods. During work hours the traveling public will experience delays due to the construction.
