**UPDATE**
US 71/165; Alexandria to Pineville, Rapides Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Tuesday, November 24, 2015,
U.S.71/165 at the Curtis-Coleman Bridge over the Red River, between Alexandria and Pineville, will be closed to traffic due to the demolition of the concrete piers of the existing O. K. Allen Bridge. This closure is anticipated to take place between 8:00 am and Noon. The contractor was unable to go forward with the demolition today, due to unforeseen circumstances. Due to the possibility of traffic delays, motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route, such as U.S. 167 (Pineville Expressway).
Also, before the demolition begins and for a period of 30 minutes after its completion, the Red River will be closed to all navigation watercraft in the vicinity of the O. K. Allen Bridge.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday, November 23, 2015), U.S.71/165 at the Curtis-Coleman Bridge over the Red River, between Alexandria and Pineville, will be closed to traffic due to the demolition of the concrete piers of the existing O. K. Allen Bridge. This closure is anticipated to take place between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Due to the possibility of traffic delays, motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route, such as U.S. 167 (Pineville Expressway).
Also, before the demolition begins and for a period of 30 minutes after its completion, the Red River will be closed to all navigation watercraft in the vicinity of the O. K. Allen Bridge.

Recommended detour via I-49 and US 167 (Purple Heart Memorial Bridge).
