DOTD announces closure of the Twin Spans Bridge for emergency repair

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the closure of the westbound Interstate 10 Twin Spans Bridge for emergency repair on Saturday, November 14, 2015, from 6:30 a.m. until noon.

The work will require a double right-lane closure on the westbound Twin Spans, near mile marker 257, for a sign truss removal. There will be at least one 20-minute full closure of I-10 West at the work site.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the area and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Motorists can access the latest updates on real-time traffic and road conditions using the 511 Traveler Information System by dialing 511 from their telephone and saying the route or region on which they are seeking information. Out-of-state travelers can call 1-888-ROAD-511 (1-888-762-3511). Travelers can also access this information by visiting the 511 Traveler Information Web site at www.511la.org.

Additionally, motorists can utilize the "Way to Geaux" application to receive real-time, around the clock travel alerts. The hands-free, eyes-free “smart phone” application can be downloaded on any iPhone or Android device by visiting either the iTunes App Store, or Google Play.
