NEW ORLEANS, La. -To clear up any miscommunication, DOTD has always been committed to delivering this project. The removal and reconfiguration of the toll plaza has always been a part of the plan. At this time, we are approximately 2/3 through the plan.

This plan consists of the following:
• Reconstructing the US 90Z ramp.
o Reconfiguration of travel lanes once the ramp metering is online.
• Implementing ramp meters at seven ramps, including the Claiborne ramp.
• Removing and restriping the toll plaza.

The revamp of the US 90 ramp and the implementation of the ramp meters are on schedule to be completed by the end of November. The funding is in place and the toll plaza reconfiguration project is scheduled to go to bid in February 2016.

The plan is to let the reconfiguration project once the ramp meters are fully functional. This allows ample opportunity for the motoring public in the region to experience the meters. It also accommodates traffic best practices and minimizes confusion for the driving public during the holiday season.
