BROUSSARD, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the left turn lane on U.S. 90 West, at its intersection with Celebrity Drive, will be permanently closed to motorists beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, July 13.

In addition, on Monday, July 13, U.S. 90 will be reduced to one lane in this area to allow crews to re-stripe this section to 11-foot lanes and install concrete barriers.

This work is estimated to take place from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.

All construction activities are weather dependent, and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $57.1 million design-build project that involves widening U.S 90 to six-lanes from Albertson Parkway to north of the Ambassador Caffery intersection. The project will also construct an overpass along U.S. 90 above Albertson Parkway, a new railroad overpass and modify the adjacent frontage roads. Work on the project is slated for completion in mid-2017.
