BROUSSARD, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the inside left turn lanes on U.S. 90 West and East (north and southbound), at its intersection with Albertson Parkway/St. Nazaire Road in Broussard, will be closed to motorists on Sunday, June 28, between 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

During the closure, motorists will only be allowed to make thru and right turn movements from U.S. 90 onto Albertson Parkway/St. Nazaire Road.

This work is necessary to allow crews to relocate the existing signal box. As a result, traffic signals at this intersection will not function for the entire day. Law enforcement will be present to assist with traffic related matters.

All construction activities are weather dependent, and may be re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather.

DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience and reminds motorists to be on the lookout for crews and their equipment.

As part of the Geaux South program, current work underway is related to the $57.1 million design-build project that involves widening U.S 90 to six-lanes from Albertson Parkway to north of the Ambassador Caffery intersection. The project will also construct an overpass along U.S. 90 above Albertson Parkway, a new railroad overpass and modify the adjacent frontage roads. Work on the project is slated for completion in mid-2017.
