The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Developmentās (DOTD) Area Engineer, Jeffrey Connella, advises the public that work will begin Monday, January 14, 2013 to construct approximately 2.064 miles of 5 lane highway construction located on state route 167 in Dry Prong, Louisiana. The first phase of construction consists of right of way clearing and grubbing and utility relocation work. This work is estimated is to be completed in approximately (6) six months.
The second phase of work will consist of drainage structures, cold planning asphaltic concrete, class II base course, lime treatment, pavement widening, concrete slab span bridge; alternate AA1, superpave asphaltic concrete pavement and related work. It is anticipated that it will take approximately (1) one year to complete the work associated with this project.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, JB James Construction, L.L.C. (Baton Rouge, LA) in the amount of $10,893,290.28.
Permit/Detour section
There will be periodic lane closures and minor delays associated with this work. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.
