The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 1177 Cheneyville, Rapides Parish, will be closed from US 71 to the Avoyelles/Rapides Parish line at the Union Pacific Railroad Tracks.  The work will be done at Milepost 0.840 and is on Control Section 840-18. The closure will be on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 8:00 AM till 5:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2013.  The closure is for Union Pacific to tamp the crossing and install the surface on the crossing. 

Permit/Detour section

The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be US 71 South to LA 1177 West to the Rapides/Avoyelles Parish line.  The detour CAN NOT accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
