The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 470 Alexandria, Rapides Parish, will be closed from the Union Pacific Railroad track.  The work will be done at Milepost 4.20 and is on Control Section 840-05. The closure will be Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 8:00 AM till 6:00 PM.  The closure is for Union Pacific to tamp thru the crossing.   

Permit/Detour section

The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be US 71 South to LA 470.  The detour can accept oversized loads.  The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public.  All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
