UPDATE (5/11/2017) Bayou Lafourche Bridge on US 80 at the Ouachita and Richland parish line is open to traffic.
UPDATE (4/5/2017): Due to weather and other construction delays, US 80 at Bayou Lafourche is projected to be reopened in mid to late April.
UPDATE: Due to current construction work being performed on the designated detour route, the closure of US 80, detailed below, has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, May 18, 2015.
Beginning Monday, May 11, 2015, US 80 will be closed at the Ouachita/Richland Parish Line. This closure is required to allow contractors to remove the existing bridge over Bayou Lafourche and to construct a new bridge structure. The extent of this work is anticipated to take approximately 10 months to complete.
Permit / Detour section
Restrictions: No restrictions noted. The roadway will be closed to through traffic.
Detour: The detour route around this road closure will be accessed using LA 594, I-20, and LA 133.
