Public Meeting Notice

Lafourche Parish, in partnership with the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, and the State Department of Transportation and Development proposes construction of the South Lafourche Airport Access Corridor Project, a connector road and vertical lift span bridge. The project will provide a direct connection between the existing Airport Road and LA3235. The project will improve safety, quality of life, sustainability, and economic competitiveness of Lafourche Parish, Port Fourchon, South Lafourche Leonard Miller, Jr. Airport, the State of Louisiana, and the United States.

Completion of this project will allow residential, commercial, and airport traffic to divert from rural, two lane undivided highways with high crash rates (LA1 and LA308) to a safer and more efficient four lane divided highway (LA3235). The Project will consist of approximately 0.4 miles of a new connector road from LA3235, to LA1, which runs adjacent to Bayou Lafourche to the west, as well as, 0.1 miles of new, vertical lift span bridge connecting LA 1 to LA308 and Airport Road, over Bayou Lafourche.

A public, “open house” style, meeting will be held at the following location and time to provide citizens an opportunity to view alternative plans and ask questions of the project team:
