Who: The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD)
Why: March 23-27 is Work Zone Awareness Week in Louisiana. In observance of this week, DOTD has assembled a cone memorial on the front lawn of Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) building in remembrance of the 579 fatalities nationwide in work zones in 2013 – including eight deaths in Louisiana. Speakers at the news conference will discuss the importance of driving safely through work zones.
