January 9th, 2015
LA 1, directly north of the Leeville Bridge near the Toll Plaza, will be closed to vehicular traffic for 20 minute intervals from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., on Saturday January 17th, 2015. The closure is required in order to allow ENTERGY TRANSMISSION to erect electrical conductor wires between two electrical poles located on each side of the Toll Plaza on the Leeville Bridge. After LA 1 is closed and one conductor wire has been erected, the roadway will be opened back up to traffic to allow all traffic awaiting to cross over the bridge at this location. After traffic has been cleared at the Toll Plaza location, the roadway will be closed again to traffic for another 20 minute interval to erect the next conductor wire. This procedure shall be followed from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. until all electrical conductor wires have been erected in place. After 3:00 P.M. LA 1 will be opened to traffic continually.
There are no alternate routes available for crossing the Leeville Bridge throughout this time period.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment owned by ENTERGY TRANSMISSION throughout this duration.
