BATON ROUGE, La. – Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced planned improvements to the signalized intersection at U.S. 61/ La. 64 in Zachary. The signal will be changed from its current configuration, which allows northbound and southbound drivers at U.S. 61 to La. 64 to turn left with an arrow or when the signal is simply green, to a left-turn only when the arrow appears. DOTD will make the operational improvements to the signal the week of December 8.

The project will help to improve safety for drivers turning left at this intersection. Once the change is made, DOTD will continue to monitor and evaluate this intersection.
