DOTD and MDOT reminds drivers of lane closures this weekend on I-10 Pearl River Bridge at Louisiana/Mississippi state line

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the Mississippi Department of Transportation would like to remind drivers of upcoming lane closures on the I-10 Pearl River Bridge from October 24 through October 27, in Hancock County at the Mississippi/Louisiana state line to allow crews to repair expansion joints on the bridge. The work is necessary to maintain the integrity of the bridge structure.

Beginning Friday, October 24 at 7 p.m., there will be one lane of I-10 closed in both directions until Monday, October 27 at 6 a.m.
Wide loads will be restricted to a maximum width of 11 feet. MDOT crews will be working 24 hours per day on the weekends in order to minimize traffic impacts and to complete the repairs as quickly as possible.

Drivers should expect significant delays on I-10 during this time. DOTD and MDOT advise drivers to take alternate routes, if possible. Alternate routes include:

  • U.S. 90 for passenger vehicles only due to posted bridges.
Detours for all other vehicles are:

  • For motorists traveling eastbound, U.S. 11 North to I-59 North to MS 43 South to I-10.
