The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Tuesday September 16, 2014 at 8:00 A.M. until work is complete, La 1178 will be closed 1.0 miles north of the junction of U.S. 71. We will be replacing a failing cross drain at this location. Weather and equipment permitting the road will be closed starting Tuesday September 16, 2014 until the job is complete.
Permit/Detour section
From the south junction of La 1178 and U.S. 71 proceed northwest along U.S. 71 for 8.14 miles to the north junction of La 29. Turn right on La 29 and head east along La 29 for 4.57 miles to the junction of La 1178. From the junction of La 1178 and La 29 proceed south along La 1178 for 6.47 miles to the road closure on La 1178. From the road closure on La 1178 head north along La 1178 for 6.47 miles to the junction of La 1178 and La 29. At this junction take a left and head west along La 29 for 4.57 miles to the junction of La 29 and U.S. 71. Turn left onto U.S. 71 and head southeast along U.S. 71 for 8.14 miles to the junction of U.S. 71 and La 1178. Turn left onto La 1178 and head north along La 1178 for 1.0 miles to the road closure.
