US 167 North & Southbound turn lane construction.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday December 03, 2012 the construction of turn lanes to the new Jena Band of Choctaw Indians Casino entrance will begin at 7:00 am. The first phase of project will begin construction of a turn lane along west side of southbound lanes of US 167. The southbound inside lane of US 167 will remain closed with the proper traffic control devices at all times during construction of first phase, then it will reopen.
Once the construction of the outside turn lane is complete, the second phase of project will begin with the construction of the northbound inside turn lane along west side of northbound US 167. This will include the re-construction of an existing cross over at location. The northbound inside lane of US 167 will remain closed with the proper traffic control devices all times during construction of second phase. The approximate duration of this construction will take about (40–50) forty to fifty days.
Gerace Construction is the prime contractor of this project.
Permit/Detour section
During construction of inside turn lane (second phase), the center crossover will be closed until complete. Detour to north or south crossover(s) of construction will be necessary
Other than the single lane closures of four lanes, no detours are expected.
