Terrebonne Parish-La 661-Houma Navigation Canal Bridge

Due to unexpected construction issues, the Houma Navigation Canal Bridge crossing the Houma Navigation Canal on LA 661 in Houma, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic. The bridge shall be open to vehicular traffic to facilitate school and work transportation in accordance with the schedule shown below:

• Open Tuesday, September 2, 2014 thru Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Open Monday, September 8, 2014 thru Friday, September 12, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Open Monday, September 15, 2014 thru Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Open Monday, September 22, 2014 thru Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Open Monday, September 29, 2014 thru Friday, October 3, 2014 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

These closure(s) to vehicular traffic are needed in order to allow LADOTD’s contractor to perform structural, mechanical, and electrical work as part of a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.

Alternate routes available around the Houma Navigation Canal bridge closure(s) are as follows:

LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 57 (Grand Caillou Road) to LA 3040 (Tunnel Blvd.) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.

LA 661 (South Van Ave.) to LA 24 (Twin Span Bridge) to LA 182 (Barrow St.) to LA 315.
