The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) advises the public that LA 6, Sabine Parish, will be closed at the Kansas City Southern Railroad track. The work is being done at 0.75 miles west of the intersection of US 171 and LA 6 (Milepost 17.73 and is on Control Section 034-02). The closure will be Friday, August 8, 2014 from 7:00 AM with a reopening to traffic at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2014. The closure is for Kansas City Southern Railroad to replace the track panel and the crossing surface.
Permit/Detour section
The roadway will be closed completely to all traffic during this time. The detour will be LA 6 to US 171 LA 474 to LA 191 to LA 476 to LA 6 . The detour can accept oversized loads. The detour route will be identified with proper markings for the general public. All emergency agencies will be notified of the road closure.
