The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development’s Paths to Progress Program will host a neighborhood informational meeting to discuss upcoming repairs to the following street segments scheduled for construction starting next month:

  • North Galvez Street (Orleans Avenue – Elysian Fields Avenue)
  • Downman Road (Babylon Street – Odin Street)

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. at the St. Ann Activity Center, 2117 Ursulines Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70116. Since St. Ann Activity Center does not have a designated parking area, on-street parking is available along Ursulines Avenue and neighboring streets.

Construction for the $2.7 million project is anticipated to begin next month. Road repairs will include resurfacing, pavement patching, repairing curbs and installing ADA-compliant accessible ramps.

Business owners, elected officials and all interested residents are encouraged to attend the informational meeting to find out more about the schedule and construction events that will take place in their area.

Project personnel will be on hand to provide the latest information on Paths to Progress, details of the upcoming street repairs and a construction schedule. The meeting will commence with a brief presentation, followed by an opportunity to ask questions and view project maps and other materials.
