BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that is opening roads across the state as crews continue to respond to highways that remain impacted by icy conditions.

Motorists are reminded to use extra caution when traveling on roadways during hazardous weather conditions. Stay off the roads whenever possible during winter weather and unsafe, icy road conditions.

Roads will open to the public once they are safe. Once the temperature gets above freezing, and the roads have time to thaw, roads will be opened. DOTD has applied and will continue to apply de-icing agents such as salt and sand on the highways in an effort to help them de-ice.

Elevated highways and bridges have continued to freeze and pose dangerous driving conditions in many portions of the I-49, I-10 and I-12 corridor as moisture and freezing temperatures bombarded the state.

The following roads have been closed due to impacts from winter weather conditions. Please keep in mind that road closures are subject to change quickly.
