The Slidell Rest Area on Southbound I-59 (Milepoint 2.2) will re-open for passenger vehicles during daylight hours, beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 20. The facility will reopen daily at 7 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. until further notice. During this time, crews will be constructing new sidewalks, pavilions, and constructing a new courtyard to the main building.
