NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces a temporary change to the Algiers Point/Canal Street ferry schedule to accommodate the Algiers Bonfire and Concert on Saturday, December 7. The change is effective for the event date only.

On Saturday, December 7, the ferry will extend its normal schedule by four hours, with service beginning from Algiers Point at 10:45 a.m. and making its last trip from Canal Street at 12:00 a.m. During this operating period, departures from Algiers will be on the quarter-hour and from Canal Street on the hour and half-hour.

Passengers need to be aware that the ferry schedule may be slightly modified (as needed) to accommodate large crowds and, as the end of the event day draws near, departure times between Algiers Point and Canal Street are subject to modification as dictated by crowd demands.

The Chalmette Ferry will operate its regular schedule, 6 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., with no changes. All ferries will return to regular operating hours on Sunday, December 8th.
