Baton Rouge, LA – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that beginning the night of Tuesday, November 5, there will be alternating lane closures on I-12 between Juban Road and Walker while crews perform final work on the West Colyell Creek Bridge.
Slated to last approximately seven weeks, the work will involve installing an under drain, concrete pavement, permanent striping and rumble strips.
During construction, two lanes in each direction will be open to traffic during peak travel times.
The work is the final phase of a $21.9 million project to widen I-12 from four to six lanes from Juban Road to Walker. Work on the project began in December 2011.
All work is weather permitting and information will be posted at www.geauxwider.com as well as on the Geaux Wider Facebook page and Twitter account.
