Denham Springs, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will host an informational workshop Aug. 17 from 5-8 p.m. at the Bass Pro Shops meeting room in Denham Springs.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide residents and businesses in the Denham Springs area with the latest information on multiple transportation improvement projects that are underway or planned such as the new Interstate 12 Geaux Wider project scheduled to begin later this month. The $36.2 million effort will widen approximately two miles of I-12 from two to three lanes. I-12 eastbound will be widened from Pete’s Highway to Juban Road, and I-12 westbound will be widened from Juban Road to east of 4-H Club Road. There will also be an update on the overall Geaux Wider program, including the planned three month closure of 4-H Club Road beneath the I-12 overpass in Denham Springs. The closure is slated to begin this month.
The workshop will feature an open house format with multiple information stations for participants to view maps, photographs, diagrams and other displays. Project personnel will be present at each station to answer questions and discuss the construction activities. Members of the public may attend the workshop at any time from 5-8 p.m.
Bass Pro Shops is located at the Interstate 12/Range Road interchange in Denham Springs.
