DOTD to hold public hearing for proposed I-20 service road in Choudrant

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LDOTD) will hold an Open House Public Hearing at the following time and place:

Thursday, September 23, 2010
3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
The New Town Hall
3911 Elm Street
Choudrant, Louisiana

LDOTD and the Village of Choudrant, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), propose to construct a new service road from Pipes Road to LA Hwy 820 in the Village of Choudrant, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. The total length of the project is approximately one mile. It will have two 12 foot travel lanes and 8 foot shoulders.

Informational materials will be distributed and graphic displays will be available for viewing. LDOTD representatives will be present to answer questions. A looping presentation will be shown describing the project, alternatives studied, and impacts from the project, including wetlands, and acquisition of right-of-way and relocation assistance. Verbal comments will be recorded and written comments will be accepted. Written statements can also be mailed to the address shown below. Statements postmarked within 10 days of this hearing will become part of the transcript of the hearing.

Copies are available for public review at the following locations: Lincoln Parish Library, 910 North Trenton Street, Ruston; West Monroe Library, 315 Cypress Street, West Monroe; LDOTD Environmental Section Office, 1201 Capitol Access Road, Room 502P, Baton Rouge; FHWA Office, 5304 Flanders Drive, Suite A, Baton Rouge. The EA is also available for review on the LDOTD website at http://www.dotd.la.gov/. It can be reviewed and/or purchased at the LDOTD District 05 office, 8010 Desaird Street, in Monroe.
