O'Neal Lane Widening Project Update
Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 2:49:02 PM

Upcoming Work: Crews are preparing to pour concrete to connect the new lanes to each intersection between I-12 to Strain Rd. Also, crews continue to build catch basins for the new sub-surface drainage system. Traffic will switch to the new lanes at the end of this week or the beginning of next week to allow crews to begin laying the foundation for the next section of the new road.

Completed Work:  The crews have installed the majority of pipe, box culverts, and catch basins on the right of the closure from I-12 to Old Hammond Hwy. and on the left of the closure from Old Hammond Hwy. to Florida Blvd. The crews have paved approx. 528 feet of new pavement at Strain Rd. and traffic has been re-routed to drive on the new pavement. The crews paved the new northbound lanes starting near I-12 and contractor has paved north past the Old Hammond Hwy intersection.

Traffic entering and exiting some streets, driveways, businesses and subdivisions will be temporarily inconvenienced while we work around driveways. If your business or residence has two entrances/exits, one entrance/exit will be closed temporarily during construction operations, but the other entrance will remain open, allowing access to your business or residence. If your business has one entrance/exit, we will maintain traffic in and out of the business or residence while crews work across the driveway.

Motorists should expect delays, and we ask that you proceed through the project with caution. Be on the lookout for flaggers and construction traffic entering and exiting the highway, side streets and driveways.

All above-mentioned work schedules are subject to change due to adverse weather. Please see public notices for exact times, dates and cancellations.
