DOTD announces results of Feb. 10 bid letting

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) considered bids totaling more than $5 million at its Feb. 10 public bid opening, according to Gov. Bobby Jindal and DOTD Interim Secretary Sherri H. LeBas, P.E.

With a bid of $1,533,846.65, Madden Contracting Co. Inc., Minden, was the low bidder on the most expensive job let Feb. 10, a project in Claiborne Parish calling for asphalt overlay, pavement widening and related work on La. 146 from La. 518 to the Lincoln Parish line.

Other projects awarded are listed below by parish(es), description, contractor and bid:

Bienville – Installing drainage pipe, asphalt overlay, installing a concrete slab span bridge and related work to replace a bridge on Pine Grove Road, Louisiana Bridge Inc., Farmerville, $399,580.40.

Caddo – Asphalt overlay and related work on the westbound outside lane of I-20 from just east of the Union Pacific Railroad overpass to just west of Pines Road, Best-Yet Builders LLC, Shreveport, $690,733.80.

Calcasieu – Asphalt overlay and related work on La. 109 from Line Road to Van Meter Road, Prairie Contractors Inc., Opelousas, $525,059.05.

Calcasieu – Sealing asphalt pavement and related work on La. 108 from 0.1 mile southeast of Joe Courville Road to Gum Cove Road, R.C. Paving Deridder Asphalt Inc., Deridder, $118,072.30.

Lincoln – Installing drainage pipe, concrete overlay, new building construction, landscaping and related work to renovate the Tremont Rest Area on I-20, Lincoln Builders of Ruston Inc., Ruston, $1,083,000.

St. Charles – Asphalt overlay, pavement widening and related work to build turn lanes on La. 48 at Schexnaydre Lane, Boh Bros. Construction Co. LLC, New Orleans, $193,622.40.

St. Tammany – Asphalt overlay, installing a concrete slab span and quad beam bridge, and related work to replace a bridge on Lake Road, Key Constructors Inc., Madison, Miss., $1,085,765.95.
