Grand Ecore Bridge project update
Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at 2:23:25 PM
Construction on the re-decking of the Grand Ecore Bridge will begin on February 17, 2010.  The first order of business is for the contractor to survey the existing bridge.  The surveying of the bridge will be performed from 17-19 February, 2010, and will require the contractor to temporarily reduce the bridge to one lane from approximately 9:00 am till 5:00 pm of each day.  After 5:00 pm, the contractor will open the bridge to two lanes of traffic until surveying resumes the next day.

From approximately 5:00 pm of February 19, 2010 until around 9:00 am of February 22, 2010, the bridge will remain open to two lanes of traffic.  Beginning at approximately 9:00 am on February 22, 2010, the contractor will begin to install the necessary traffic control devices to begin the long term reduction of the bridge to one lane.  The reduction to one lane of traffic will remain in effect for the majority of the project, with the exception of the night closures on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 11:30 pm – 4:30 pm.  A reminder that the contractor will only allow the night closures when absolutely necessary, and the public should not expect the bridge to be closed every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of every week.

In an effort to keep the public informed of the road closures and general jobsite information, a local phone number has been established that is available to the public to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The number to call is (318) 793-4445.  This phone number will be available for use beginning February 11, 2010.
