LA 469; Alligator Lake Road; LA 8 to Fort Polk; Vernon Parish

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that, weather permitting, construction work will begin on LA 469 (Alligator Lake Road) from LA 8 to Fort Polk on Monday, November 5, 2012 and will continue for approximately (8)eight weeks. This 2.47 mile project involves concrete pavement removal, base reconstruction and asphaltic concrete pavement. 

The project was awarded to the low bidder, Diamond B Construction Co., LLC in the amount of $1,424,805.85.

Permit/Detour section
LA 469 from the intersection of LA 8 to the intersection of LA 28 will require lane closures taking place between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The lane closure will have wide-load vehicle restrictions and one lane will be accessible at all times.

LA 469 from the intersection of LA 28 to Fort Polk will be accessible to local traffic only.  This portion of LA 469 will be closed to through traffic.  The traveling public can access Fort Polk by traveling west along LA 28 and turning south onto LA 184.  Upon entering Fort Polk, LA 184 terminates and becomes Chaffee Road.
