Work continues on the concrete footings, columns and caps for the new North Causeway Boulevard to I-10 westbound ramp. The steel girders over I-10 East have been installed and the girders over Westbound will be installed Sunday, September 20, from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.

On the new I-10 West to Veterans ramp, sand and stone base course are near complete.  Asphalt will be placed on this ramp in mid-September. At that point, the off-ramp traffic will be shifted to the new off-ramp.

The new water and sewer lines are complete along the ground-level portion of North Causeway Boulevard north of I-10.  Installation of drainage pipes and concrete barrier wall throughout the project is also underway.

CURRENT LANE AND RAMP CLOSURES
Lane closures on ground-level North Causeway north of Veterans continue most days 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. Left turns from eastbound Veterans onto northbound Causeway are NOT ALLOWED 6 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. There will also be periodic closures of side streets off Causeway for the installation of sewer and water pipes across side streets.

There are periodic lane closures on I-10 at night and on Sundays.  I-10 West will be completely closed on Sunday, September 20 from 6 am – 6pm.

Motorists should expect delays, and we ask that you proceed through the project with caution. Be on the lookout for flaggers and construction traffic entering and exiting the highway, side streets and driveways.

Traffic entering and exiting some streets, driveways, businesses and subdivisions will be temporarily inconvenienced while construction continues. If your business or residence has two entrances/exits, one entrance/exit will be closed temporarily during construction operations, but the other entrance will remain open allowing access to your business or residence. If your business has one entrance/exit, we will maintain traffic in and out of the business or residence while crews work across the driveway.

All above-mentioned work schedules are subject to change due to adverse weather.
