Restrictions: No permit or oversized loads greater than 12’ feet wide will be able to pass. These loads should contact the DOTD permit office for a new route.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises that traffic will be shifted into a split configuration on LA 70. Westbound will have the outside lane open on the old LA 70 alignment, and eastbound will have the outside lane open on the new LA 70 alignment. This new alignment is located between LA 22 and the Sunshine Bridge. Please be advised that this lane shift will cause motorists to travel on both the new and old LA 70 roadway, and motorists should expect modifications to driveway and roadway access along this corridor of LA 70. This lane shift will take place the night of Monday, June 16th, 2025.
Furthermore, the signal at LA 70 and LA 3125 will be removed, and the intersection will function as a permanent roundabout. Motorist should proceed through the new roundabout layout with care.
This shift is to allow the contractor to complete median work, as well as to pave the final layer of asphalt on the inside lanes on LA 70.
