Work begins on $2M preservation project on La. 347 in Iberia and St. Martin Parishes

IBERIA & ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that construction recently began on a $2,068,400.57 project on La. 347 between La. 86 and 0.405 miles south of La. 96.
SCOPE OF WORK The project consists pavement patching, milling asphalt concrete, asphalt concrete overlay, pavement markings, and related work.
WORK SCHEDULE Work is estimated to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
TRAVEL IMPACTS There will be alternating lanes closures throughout this project.
The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone beginning Tuesday, May 20.
Emergency vehicles will have access to this area but may encounter delays.
The project is estimated for completion by August of 2025.
