PROJECT UPDATE: LA 1 (Youree Dr.) asphalt overlay, Shreveport (Caddo Parish)
SHREVEPORT – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the $3.8 million project to repair a section of LA 1 (Youree Drive) in Shreveport has shifted in the next phase of work.
Permanent roadway striping is now being applied to the length of the project, which stretches from Stoner Avenue to Southfield Road.
The busy commercial and residential corridor has already been fully re-paved with new asphalt, following numerous repairs to the roadway base (full-depth patching), various sidewalk repairs, milling off of old asphalt, and drainage improvements.
Motorists should be aware of continued intermittent lane closures necessary to complete these final tasks. Please remember to drive slowly and carefully through the construction zone.
The entire project, funded through an additional $7.5 million allocated by the state legislature to each DOTD regional office, should wrap up in the coming weeks, weather permitting.
