DOTD announces overlay project on LA 3154/Hickory Ave. in Harahan

Harahan, La. —The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces work will start on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, on a $750,000 road resurfacing project for a section of LA 3154, also known as Hickory Ave., in Harahan.
The project involves asphalt patching, resurfacing, and new concrete work, including new sidewalk ramps at intersections, and new striping on Hickory Ave. between 9th St. and LA 48/Jefferson Hwy.
• Most work will be on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
• Throughout the project, at least one lane will remain open, with flagging operators present.
• No work will occur after 6 p.m.
• Emergency vehicles will have access to this area.
• The project's estimated completion date is early fall of 2025.
• Residents can stay informed about all lane closures by visiting www.511la.org or signing up for alerts from the MyDOTD service at www.dotd.la.gov.
