Causeway Interchange Phase I
April 3, 2009
The Causeway Interchange project will begin April 6.
This $35.6 million project will construct five dedicated ramps at the Causeway Boulevard interchange. This project will improve efficiency and safety at this heavily traveled interchange. Approximately 178,000 drivers use the interchange each day.
The new dedicated ramps built during the project will include:
- An elevated on-ramp from northbound Causeway to I-10 westbound
- A ground level on-ramp from northbound Causeway to I-10 eastbound
- An off-ramp from I-10 westbound to ground level North Causeway and Veterans Boulevard
- An elevated off-ramp from I-10 westbound to northbound Causeway for drivers traveling to North Metairie and the North Shore
- An off-ramp from northbound Causeway to Veterans Boulevard
Traffic and Detour
The first step in this project will be the reconstruction of the I-10 eastbound on-ramp from North Causeway.
The I-10 eastbound on-ramp from North Causeway will close for approximately four to five months while crews reconstruct the ramp.
The detour for traffic will be the South Service Road. Exit North Causeway onto South Service Road and enter I-10 east using the Bonnabel on-ramp.
Please use caution when driving through the construction limits.
