UPDATE: The Cameron Ferry crossing has been reopened. (previous announcement) Cameron Parish - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that the Cameron Ferry crossing is expected to remain closed until the middle or late part of next week. In response to this issue, DOTD is transferring one of the Plaquemine/Sunshine ferry vessels to the Cameron Ferry crossing. Service will begin with this ferry once it arrives, continuing until the necessary repairs are finished and the Acadia Ferry is restored to operation. It is important to note that vehicle combinations exceeding 50 feet in length will still be required to take a detour, with I-10 available as an alternative route.
