ST. MARTIN PARISH
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will conduct a Public Hearing to receive comments on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the proposed new highway which will serve as a by-pass of the existing Route LA 31 through St. Martinville in St. Martin Parish.
The Public Hearing will be an Open House event; interested citizens are invited to attend the Hearing on the date and at the location listed below.

The Hearing will include a continuously playing recorded presentation of the project information. A court reporter will be available to provide an opportunity for interested citizens to make verbal comments on the record. Representatives of the DOTD and the project team will be present to provide information relative to the general location and design features of the roadway, the relocation assistance program, and any other matters of interest. All interested citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.
Detailed information relative to the project is available to those interested through copies of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA). The EAs are available for public review and copying at the following locations: ST. MARTINVILLE BRANCH LIBRARY located at 201 Porter St., St. Martinville, LA 70582, DOTD Environmental Section office located 1201 Capitol Access Road, Room 504-D, Baton Rouge, LA, and FHWA Division office located at 5304 Flanders Dr, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA. Copies of the EA are available for review and/or purchase at the Department's District 03 Office located at 428 Hugh Wallis Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508.
Should anyone require special assistance due to a disability to participate in this Public Hearing, please contact DOTD Environmental Section by telephone at (225) 242-4513, at least five working days prior to the Public Hearing.
Written statements and other exhibits in lieu of, or in addition to, verbal statements made at the Public Hearing must be submitted to the address below and postmarked by Saturday, January, 24, 2009. Written statements also may be submitted through that date by electronic mail directly to St.Martinville.Bypass@neel-schaffer.com. All comments must include the name and address of the person commenting.
