BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that an unplanned closure of the westbound lane of La. 408 (Hooper Road) between Carmel Drive and Tanglewood Drive is currently in place, in order for crews to repair a box culvert (or drainage pipe) with road erosion. This was found during a routine inspection of the road. The closure is expected to continue through the evening of Sunday, November 10. There are two suggested detour routes:

• Joor Road and La. 410 (Blackwater Road) to La. 64
• Airline Highway to Greenwell Springs to La. 946, and back to La. 408.

Tanglewood Drive and Carmel Drive will remain open to traffic.
