LAFAYETTE, LA—The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will host a public information open house on Tuesday, October 15, for the next phase of I-49 South construction in Lafayette Parish.  The meeting is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. at Keith’s Ball Room, 405 Albertson Parkway, in Broussard.

The next phase of planned work includes widening U.S. 90 from four to six travel lanes from north of Ambassador Caffery Parkway to Albertson’s Parkway. Work may also include construction of several miles of frontage roads adjacent to U.S. 90, along with multiple overpasses. 

Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2014 with completion of this phase slated for mid-2017. 

DOTD project personnel will be available at the open house to provide information about the planned construction work and potential impacts for drivers and nearby properties.
