The $7.2 million Jefferson Street Bridge project did experience some delay since certain aspects of the project could not be performed in adverse weather conditions, such as, but not limited to, rain and humidity. 

The contractor has painted most of the bridge structure. The contractor is also working to install the hydraulic system, balancing the swing span and performing electrical work, which are significant and extensive aspects in the construction of a movable bridge.

Remaining work includes asphalt work, balancing the bridge, working on the hydraulic system, forming the concrete approaches, and coordination of the electrical, mechanical and structural components to ensure the bridge performs properly.

Estimated completion for the bridge is February 2014.
