LANE CLOSURE: I-49 southbound near Exit 127 (LA 120), Natchitoches Parish
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises the public that on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024 construction will begin on the southbound lane of I-49 in Natchitoches Parish. This work will begin 2.3 miles south of Exit 127 (LA 120 Cypress-Flora) and proceed south for 0.6 miles.
The purpose of this project is to repair the right lane in two pre-identified locations. The work will include saw cutting the existing pavement (a process that helps control cracking), removal of existing pavement and base, new roadway base, concrete pavement patching, installing under drains, permanent pavement striping, and other related work.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, Progressive Construction Co. LLC, of Alexandria, LA in the amount of $125,842.00.
The work associated with this project should take approximately 45 days to complete, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.
Permit/Detour section:
Thru traffic will be maintained at all times with oversize and emergency vehicles allowed passage. There will be no detour routes associated with this project, however periodic lane closures can be expected.
