DOTD is committed to getting this project done quickly and safely. Upon starting the project, a delay was encountered near the post office due to the need to modify drainage by realigning the culverts around a 48-foot oak tree as to not disturb the roots and damage the tree. Shortly afterward, we discovered that the catch basins delivered to the jobsite did not meet our standards; therefore, we were unable to install them. New catch basins are currently being manufactured and will be shipped to the project site in approximately three (3) weeks. Coupled with recent weather delays, current estimates put the project behind schedule by approximately three (3) weeks.

To not further delay the timeline of the project, crews are now working on the bridge structure, installing bents in preparation for the bridge girders and decks. Work also continues along Hwy 190 where crews are excavating to prepare to pour concrete for sidewalk installation on tomorrow.
