NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that the Motor Vessel Louis B. Porterie has been cleared for service by the U.S. Coast Guard and is now in service at the Algiers Point/Canal Street route. The boat had been out of service for thruster repairs.

The M/V Levy – a large vehicular boat – will resume service at Chalmette at approximately 1:30 p.m. The M/V St. John had been servicing the Lower Algiers/Chalmette route, but was a smaller vehicular boat. The St. John will be placed at Lower Algier maintenance landing for back up.
