LA 151 near Calhoun in Ouachita Parish

UPDATE: 8/8/2024 - DOTD has completed this work and the bridge and highway is now reopened.
UPDATE: Work continues and it is anticipated that this bridge will remain close through Friday, August 9, 2024.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that, beginning on Monday, June 10th, the LA 151 Bridge over Curry's Creek in Ouachita Parish will be closed for a bridge replacement.
The bridge will be closed approximately 1400 feet north of I-20 near Calhoun.
The closure is anticipated to last 8 weeks, and should be open Friday, July 26, 2024.
Restrictions/Permits:
Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route:
A detour route will be signed and provided for the duration of the closure. All vehicles must detour using LA 151, LA 145, and I-20.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
