The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces extended lane closures affecting Veterans Hospital and University Medical Center (UMC) construction zones.
Construction at the Veterans Hospital site will require a continuous closure of all three lanes at South Claiborne Avenue (northbound), between Cleveland and Tulane Avenues, for a waterline tie-in, starting July 17 and ending on July 26. Northbound traffic will be shifted to the existing parking lane.
Also starting July 17, UMC construction will require two lanes be closed, with one lane remaining open at Tulane Avenue (westbound) between S. Claiborne and S. Galvez Street for five weeks, for manhole installation. The lanes should reopen by approximately August 21, 2013.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction zone and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
